Start by creating a profile for the animal you want to feed.
What to add in the profile
BarfLab uses the profile to estimate requirements and show the right warnings. The most important fields are:
- species: dog or cat,
- breed or type,
- body weight,
- life stage,
- activity level,
- relevant health flags or dietary restrictions.
Typical flow
- Open the app and create a new pet profile.
- Choose whether the profile is for a dog or a cat.
- Fill in the basic details such as breed, weight, and life stage.
- Add any health notes or restrictions if they apply.
- Save the profile.
- Open the calculator and use that profile for the recipe.
Why this matters
The profile affects the nutrient targets, suggestions, and warnings shown in the calculator. If the weight, life stage, or restrictions are outdated, the recipe analysis may also be misleading.
