Digital Service Terms

Rules for access, updates, conformity, deletion, and consumer rights for the digital service.

Last updated: July 10, 2026.

This article explains how the BARFLAB digital service is provided and supported. It complements the Terms of Service.

In short

  • Access to paid features begins after purchase confirmation through the relevant billing channel.
  • If PayU is made available for a purchase in Poland, access will begin after payment confirmation and expire at the end of the monthly or annual period paid in advance. Continued access will require a new manual purchase.
  • We may provide updates, fixes, and changes needed for the operation, security, and conformity of the service.
  • After a subscription expires, paid features remain available until the end of the paid period.
  • After you delete your account, service data is deleted without undue delay, except data we must keep by law.

Scope of the digital service

Depending on plan and platform, the BARFLAB service may include:

  • account creation and sign-in,
  • pet profiles,
  • BARF diet calculations,
  • saving recipes and data synchronization,
  • settings and help content,
  • support features related to the account or subscription.

Some features may require internet access, a user account, or an active paid plan.

Technical requirements

To use the service properly, you generally need:

  • an up-to-date web browser or a supported iOS or Android device,
  • internet access,
  • an active email address,
  • software and device settings that allow secure network communication.

Individual features may work differently depending on the device, operating system version, or app store restrictions.

Start of access and updates

Access to the free part of the service usually begins after creating an account or when the site is made available.

Access to paid features begins after the purchase is successfully confirmed through the relevant billing channel: Stripe for purchases in the web application, Apple App Store for purchases on iOS, or Google Play for purchases on Android.

If PayU is made available at checkout for a purchase in Poland and confirms the payment, access to paid features will begin after that confirmation. Such a purchase will cover one monthly or annual subscription period paid in advance.

We may provide updates, fixes, security patches, and functional changes needed to:

  • keep the service in conformity with the contract,
  • maintain security and stability,
  • improve compatibility,
  • fix bugs or performance problems.

Support and conformity with the contract

If BARFLAB does not work in conformity with the contract, contact us at kontakt@barflab.io.

If you are a consumer, in case of non-conformity of the digital service you may have rights under applicable law. Depending on the situation and the applicable law, these may include:

  • bringing the service into conformity with the contract,
  • a price reduction,
  • withdrawal from the contract,
  • other remedies provided by mandatory consumer law.

We may first try to fix the problem, restore access, or provide an update, where appropriate and legally sufficient.

In your report, it helps to describe as specifically as possible what the problem concerns, on which platform it occurs, and when it began. This speeds up diagnosis and handling.

Expiry of access and data retention

If your paid plan expires or is cancelled, access to paid features continues until the end of the current paid period, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

If the option to purchase a prepaid PayU period is made available in Poland, access will expire at the end of that period. Such a purchase will not renew automatically, and no further automatic PayU charge will be scheduled. Continuing access will require a new manual purchase.

If the account remains inactive after the subscription expires, we may delete the account and related service data one year after expiry.

If you delete your account yourself, account data is deleted without undue delay. Data we must keep for legal, tax, accounting, or claims-related reasons may be retained for the period required by law.

Invoices and similar accounting documents may be retained even after account deletion.

Consumer right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer buying the service at a distance, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from the contract, unless a legal exception applies.

If, before the withdrawal period ends, you request immediate access to the digital content or digital service and make the required declarations, your right of withdrawal may be limited or lost to the extent permitted by applicable law.

For purchases in the web application, you can submit a withdrawal declaration by writing to kontakt@barflab.io.

If PayU handles a purchase in Poland, you can use the same address to submit a withdrawal declaration, refund request, or complaint about the payment. Submitting a request does not guarantee a refund; we return funds only after approving the request. See the Refund Policy for details.

For subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the rules of the relevant store and the technical limitations of that purchase channel may also apply.

Complaints

Complaints about the digital service can be sent to kontakt@barflab.io.

In your report, describe:

  • what does not work,
  • when the problem appeared,
  • which device or platform you use,
  • what result you expected.

We handle complaints without undue delay and within the timeframes required by applicable law.
