The analysis highlights values and ratios that need review.
Steps
- Open the diet analysis.
- Review the visible marks and expand the sections that need attention.
- Compare the result with the range shown beside the nutrient or ratio.
- Open the range information to check BARFLAB thresholds and source values.
- Return to ingredient editing, change a product, amount, or supplement, and open the analysis again.
Result
After the diet changes, the analysis is recalculated. You can then see which marks have cleared and which still need attention.
How to read the thresholds
BARFLAB shows the minimum requirement (MR), recommended allowance (RA), and—where one is defined—the upper limit (SUL). BARFLAB thresholds were developed from NRC 2006, FEDIAF 2021, and AAFCO 2023; values from those sources may also be shown separately.
Limitations
Color alone does not explain the cause—always check the value, range, and description. MR, RA, and SUL are reference points, not a guarantee that a diet is safe or a diagnosis. Interpret the result in the context of the current pet profile and the product data used.
