Start by creating a profile for the animal you want to feed.
What to add in the profile
BarfLab uses the profile to estimate requirements and show the right warnings. The most important fields are:
- species: dog or cat,
- body weight,
- life stage,
- activity level,
- neutering or spaying,
- body condition (BCS),
- any allergens or ingredients to exclude.
Typical flow
- Open the app and create a new pet profile.
- Choose whether the profile is for a dog or a cat.
- Fill in the basic details such as weight, life stage, and activity level.
- Add any allergens or ingredients to exclude if they matter.
- Save the profile.
- Open the calculator and use that profile for the recipe.
Why this matters
The profile affects the nutrient targets, suggestions, and warnings shown in the calculator. If the weight, life stage, or activity level are outdated, the recipe analysis may also be misleading.
